Primary School

Our all-day school is for children from 6 to 12 years. Open from 7:00 to 18:00.

We offer the all-day school for the elementary school, 2nd kindergarten year, 1st to 3rd class, and the middle school, 4th to 6th class. We support the creative abilities and skills of the children with various projects in the fields of art, sports, music and handicraft activities. The holistic advancement of the children is central to us. From the Middle School onwards, we prepare your child for entry into secondary schools. When suitable for the individual, we also offer support for the entrance examination to the grammar school in the 6th class.

During term time, children may attend the primary school, Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 18:00.

The school day starts at 8:30 and finishes at 16:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. On Friday the school day starts at 8:30 and finishes at 12:00. The Middle School (4th to 6th class) finishes at 15:45 on Wednesdays. During this time, projects are proposed including cooking and school gardening. The children go out to play before lunch. During the day the children have opportunities for individual breaks and to have a snack. Outside of scheduled school hours, the children are supervised.

Students learn alone, in pairs or in small groups.

Twenty-minute input lessons provide new learning content. Lectures are given, topics are discussed or debates are held in large groups.

Languages are important and are taught by native speakers. So we start Monday morning with French, English is on Thursday. One afternoon per week is reserved for theme-related excursions. Gymnastics and swimming lessons complement our timetable.

From the 4th class on, further lessons of 40 minutes each are added. The children are introduced to homework and they receive assessments for their work.

Our lunch consists of seasonal, freshly cooked menus.

“The door to learning opens from within”

Learning encourages and challenges innate curiosity. Children like to learn when they feel comfortable. They learn from each other when the material is interesting and adapted to their needs. Our teachers teach in a way that encourages and supports their interest in learning.

Our weekly schedule not only includes the elementary school curriculum learning goals, but also takes into account and promotes the children’s curiosity and specific interests. Self-responsibility and self-organisation are of central importance to us. We invite artists, craftsmen and craftswomen and other experts to visit us and teach in a true-to-life way.

To ensure a smooth transition to high school, state school procedures are integrated into everyday school life from the middle school onwards.
